Vale Jim Price

Jim Price worked alongside the Calliope office staff for years, volunteering his time and knowledge, and assisting with many on-ground work and projects. His association with local natural resource management though, goes back much further than that.

He was actively involved with the Calliope Landcare Group, the Calliope Soil Conservation Association Inc. and Safe Haven at Mount Larcom, a captive breeding and research centre for the northern hairy nosed wombat and home to the bridled nailtail wallaby and koalas. He was camp cook for research scientists at Kroombit Tops NP, and had plans to cook for them again this year.

Jim Price Memorial

A memorial for Jim Price is going to be held at the Calliope Golf Club at 11am on the 26th February. Jim was a highly esteemed volunteer of our Boyne Calliope office and his presence will greatly missed.

Best Projects 2013 – 2014

Every year Capricornia Catchments runs the Best Projects Awards, where we recognise the contributions from our hardworking landholders and present awards in recognition of involvement in improving our catchment.

Last year we awarded projects in two categories, Flood Recovery and Grazing Projects.

The nominations are compiled by our project officers, and then presented to the management committee for selection of the best projects based on 4 criteria.

• In kind contributions
